Titles of blog post are a funny little thing aren’t they? For instance today you might read Snow Angel and assume my daughter is a well behaved, sweet, little angel. And sometimes she is…she really is. However, her behavior can also be described as difficult & insistent, or that other word I like to use to describe my Sunshine girl- PASSIONATE.  It seemed a little harsh to title today’s blog Mommy’s Little Devil.

There are days my friends when she is difficult and I am tired and the combination of those things creates a perfect storm resulting in photos that look like these taken during last nights dinner.

Truthfully the trouble she makes is still funny, because at 2 she’s still cute and everything is still an accident and I am still learning how to parent her. So here we are somewhere between working out our kinks and figuring out how to co-exist in a world that includes us, but was created for her. Our whole lives revolve around her. My work, Matt’s race to get home, our collective decision to find a home in the garden state. She needs a backyard with grass, good schools, and a place to call home. Or maybe that’s just what we want for her- what’s the difference?  So our weekends are spent in the car, with an agent, searching for  the perfect home, for her. But there’s more, now there’s more than her to dream of and for. And though we didn’t find the right house to hang our dreams on this weekend, we’re searching … always searching for perfection. A perfect somewhere to be imperfect in.

She was up at 4:00am.

Santa bought her this horse for Christmas, this is her first ride on Butterscotch our family horse. And yes, Christmas was two months ago…

Lets ignore the fact that this giant horse lives in my tiny apartment.

We’re looking for a house. Someone pray that New Jersey opens up its arms wide enough to embrace our growing family this weekend. 2 failed attempts at ownership has me down but not out. Only I could find a state were you can be in a bidding war with 4 other families during a recession.

I can’t focus on that though, Butterscotch needs a good home and this girl…

needs wide open spaces.

There will come a day were I will be yelled at by my child for posting the following pictures of her to this blog- however at 2 years old even she sees the humor in her naked-ness. First of all this is exactly how every morning starts around here. You’ll note the hair, baby doll,  socks and shoes. The only thing missing is her purse…

Our evenings are a bit more…x-rated, with sunny screaming “I’m naked! I’m naked!” and then “Take my picture!!!!!”

I know what you’re thinking, is this kid destined for the pages of Playboy someday? (Just kidding Matt) But don’t be fooled, the thought has certainly crossed our minds…

But then she picks up her faithful toothbrush and we’re back on track to becoming a dentist. (Hopefully not at a nudest colony)

Cheers to naked babies everywhere, for however long this phase last we will embrace it with photos and embarrassing blog post.

We’re very excited to announce that we’re expecting a new member to our family this coming summer.

15 weeks

Though I spent the entire holiday season at the mercy of my sick stomach, we’ve turned a corner and have started to grow.

Needless to say, we’re all very excited and getting ready for our new arrival, especially soon to be big sister Gracen.

We’re very grateful and counting our blessings.

The day we found out.
