Did I mention I always wanted a girl? Not just any girl…a girly girl is what I wished for and in case you haven’t heard this enough in one lifetime, be careful what you wish for.

Purses, baby dolls, bracelets, hair bows, tu-tu’s, and shoes, these few words are  all you need (at the moment) to describe my daughter.

This weekend while Matt worked, we headed out to Short Hills Mall with Nora and her boys. I’m not sure how we got to this plan of taking 3 kids under two years old to a crowded mall on a Saturday but to know us is to know we will do anything to get out of the house and entertain our children ( and shop a 50% Bloomingdale’s sale).

Everything was going perfect ( as you might imagine) until we reached Nostrom’s children’s shoe department where my child HAD to have a pair of pink Crocs. I would just like to point out how ugly these shoes are and that they are $40.00- which is actually criminal. Anyway after a full 1/2 hour of begging and saying things like “Mommy I LOVEEEEEEE THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!” I caved, and she’s literally never been happier in her two years of life. in fact the next morning she told me repeatedly that she loves me so much, and that she is “proud of her shoes.” Then she asked about 100 times if we could “go more shopping.”

This pic of her and Aidan cracks me up because Aidan is as much all boy and Sunny is all girl. I’m fairly certain if we took another picture on the same bench 10 or 20 years from now they would assume the exact same positions.

On Sunday we went to Church ( if you fell over in shock I understand) and then to brunch. If you say the word church to Sunny she will repeat “Church, sing…brunch?!?” We went and food makes her this happy…

Hope your weekend was  as wonderful as ours. A special thank you to Nora, who  always makes my life easier and prevented Matt from getting an ear full by keeping me busy this weekend in his absence.

The first snow this weekend made for an exciting Saturday morning.

That yellow thing below, is her favorite ball. She hates for ball to get dirty which is why ball will never go outside again.

Especially in the winter, when it has snowed.

Here she is screaming at her father “BBBBBAAAALLLLLL DIRTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Things got better once we brought ball back inside.

We’ve switched over to our winter stroller, and Sunny has moved on to her winter purse…which goes with us everywhere.

She loves to play “tunnel” under our covers at night. It’s where we sing “Twankle, Twankle Lit-lal Stars…”  ( no, those aren’t typos)

She recently learned  to smile and say cheese- while actually looking at the camera and waiting for the flash. This is  a little miracle.

The second miracle will be if she ever takes off those Hello Kitty boots.

Here’s wishing you all a perfect weekend. Happy Friday.

Twins

My child woke up at 4am. It’s been a long, very long day. I even texted a friend saying “Do you ever feel like you just can’t do this today?”

But then something happened. Sunny found her favorite glow sticks and gave one to me. She wrapped it around my head, and wore hers around her neck. Then she declared us twins.

Best. Moment. Ever.

Yep! We’re twins little one. I’ll take that. And for the record Sunny, I’m glad I was home with you today to experience that moment.

Un-Baby

This little one turns one years old on Sunday.

That picture was taken the day we met, hours after he was born. I can hardly believe how time has flown by…since Nora gave birth to this little man. For a long time she’s graciously allowed me to refer to him as our baby, but he’s a baby no more. Walking and moving like the big ones- only he hasn’t turned on us quite yet.

Happy  1st Birthday to our friend and un-baby Rory.

This weekend was….challenging. Why do 2 year olds not sleep? Last night my darling child was up from 1:00am until 5:00am.

She wouldn’t sleep so, we recorded her on video. Which explains why she is dressed in half pj’s and half play clothes, with un-combed hair, and singing like a drunk woman.

In Gracie’s world her ABC’s go a little somthin like this:

ABCDEFGHIJK ELMO P CE-LA STUV DOUGALA XY AND Z   and for the record, we think she’s the cutest little ABC-er in the whole world, which is why we refuse to correct her :)

Hello? Is anyone there? If you’re reading this post, I appreciate you coming back to check on us.

I think I took the concept of Christmas break too far this year- given I took next to no photos, didn’t blog, and mostly let my in-laws and parents wait on me hand and foot. As it turns out they had their own lives to return too, so…… here we are! Or rather here I am faced with mounds of work, a two year old, and a few holiday photos to share with you!

First things first, this was the photo of Sunny we used in this years Christmas Card.

The caption read: Happy Everything, Merry Always! Matt, Stephanie, & Gracen

Over break my entire computer center CRASHED!!! You people have no idea what that might be like for a freelance video editor- it was a mess! So, I only have a few photos from my phone to share with you as we are still getting everything back in working order. Bare with me…

Here are some pics from the day Sunny turned TWO!!!!

What’s that? You love her shirt? I made that myself! Whatever, if you’re not impressed you CLEARLY haven’t played with puff paint in a while.

Two has brought us lots of new and wonderful surprises, like the ability to open Mommies make up bag and play dress up.

My in-laws came for a visit and we trimmed the tree- there are like 1200 photos of this moment, only I can’t get to them…

And we spent Christmas day at my Brother and Brother-In-Laws’ house. From now on we plan on telling Sunny that Santa actually comes to Chris and JC’s house, because the gifts she gets at our house, just can’t compare.

Matt had a little time off during the break so we took Sunny to the children’s museum and I personally think dressing her up as J Lo was a happy accident.

And there you have it. We’ll be back with more photos and now that I have working computers we’ll blog so often you’ll get sick of us!

I promise a BIG post is coming soon. But in the meantime, on the last day of 2011 our daughter made a new friend at the park.

She went to a glow in the dark dance party at Bounce U.  You’re supposed to bounce in all of the bounce houses, but they played GaGa and The Party People, so mostly Sunshine just danced around the warehouse screaming “Shake your booty!!!”

Then we headed to her Godmother’s house for dinner and an early Happy New Year party!

I hope you’re New Year is the best of your life. I’ve gotta feeling that 2012 will be the Best. Year. Yet.
